A large Family Bible in poor and disbound condition relating to James and Margaret Duff of Oxendon Street, London, proprietor of Duff & Sons Royal Laundry. The Bible includes two interesting inserts: a handwritten family history writtenby one of the grandchildren of James and Margaret, and a Victorian Carte de Visite of "Grandma Duff", believed to be Margaret Duff.
The family history provides details of family businesses, stories of temperance and further insights into the prosperous Duff family.
The handwritten Family Register details 25 individuals, James and Margaret, (presumably) their fifteen children, including birth and death years and further details of an additional 8 grandchildren.
Despite the poor condition, this is a fascinating family heirloom
